UF/IFAS HS10/UF/IFAS banana guidance rates clones good, fair, or poor for cold. Those ratings are for south Florida availability, not an Orlando guarantee. Dwarf Cavendish is fair and short enough to wrap. Goldfinger is good-cold and disease-resistant. Gros Michel is poor. Gardening Solutions names Japanese fiber banana (Musa basjoo) as the most cold-hardy landscape plant, and Black Thai (Musa balbisiana) as another cold-hardy ornamental.
